(BES) is a woman owned and operated small business. We offer
an experienced staff with a dedicated work ethic and a desire
to meet your environmental needs. We will work with you in
a one-on-one atmosphere to discuss your environmental concerns
to aid in determining your timeframes and requirements.
The staff preparing the environmental site assessment reports
has over 25 years of experience in the environmental field,
including the State of Delaware’s regulatory requirements
for both the Voluntary Cleanup Program and the Brownfields
Program. This experience allows us to anticipate the prospective
legal, financial, and technical issues and concerns that accompany
potentially contaminated properties.
Our wastewater staff has over 35 years of experience in wastewater
management, training and other associated areas of water quality.
We have certified environmental trainers (CETs) for all aspects
of wastewater. We bring a unique prospective to your company
by having a staff that have worked on both the regulated and
regulatory side of compliance. This gives BES the ability
to fully understand state and federal programs.
BES also conducts asbestos and lead abatement. We have the
ability to handle all sizes of projects from residential to
large industrial. Our staff is experienced, licensed and trained
to manage the project and handle the potential associated
risks. In addition to the environmental services, BES also
has the resources to offer plant dismantling, re-erection
and appraisals. Our staff has been in the demolition business
for over 21 years.
MANAGEMENT TEAM
Lynn K. Poling - President/Environmental Engineer
Ms. Poling is the President of Brownfields Environmental Services
Inc. and is responsible for the daily activities of the company.
She has been in the environmental field for over 13 years.
She has experience in the regulatory field of air quality,
soil and water conservation, and Superfund. Ms. Poling’s
expertise includes state and federal Superfund programs; site
investigation; remedial actions; and air permitting and inspections.
She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering
and a master’s degree in environmental policy and management.
Ms. Poling also has several certifications in the environmental
field, which include Certified Hazardous Materials Manager
(CHMM) – Master Level; Certified Construction Reviewer
and Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response OSHA
40 Hour Training.
Keith J. Robertson - Hydrogeologist
Mr. Robertson has over 15 years of experience in the environmental
field, which includes 10 years in site assessment, characterization
and remediation. This experience has given him and extensive
knowledge of CERCLA and several different states’ regulations.
In addition to his expertise in site remediation, Mr. Robertson
has a working knowledge of water supply and sediment and erosion
control related to coastal hazards. He has conducted more
than 50 hydro-geologic investigations in 14 states, in both
coastal plain and fractured rock environments, focusing on
groundwater flow, contaminant fate and transport and geo-chemical.
Mr. Robertson holds a B.S. and a M.S. in Geology.
Glenn F. Davis - Certified Environmental Trainer
and Wastewater Specialist
Mr. Davis has over 25 years of experience in the environmental
field. During this time, he has been involved with several
aspects including industrial hygiene, health and safety, and
the associated regulatory requirements. Mr. Davis has been
in charge of the operations of Industrial Wastewater Treatment
Plant Operations for over 20 years. He was responsible for
NESHAP compliance and all other aspects of environmental compliance
for a major industry. His expertise includes Wastewater Operations
and Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) requirements and preparation.
Mr. Davis is a Certified Environmental Trainer (CET) and a
licensed Level IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Mr.
Davis is the chairman of the Board of Certification for Wastewater
Operators and a board member of the Board of Certification
for Wastewater Operators. He is also a Certified Class B Asbestos
Supervisor.
Joseph Mulrooney - Certified Environmental Trainer
and Wastewater Specialist
Mr. Mulrooney has over 25 years of experience in the environmental
field. He has been with the Department of Natural Resources
and Environmental Control (DNREC) for the State of Delaware
for 20 years. Prior to his regulatory position, Mr. Mulrooney
served as an environmental manager for a large industrial
facility with an active wastewater operations system. This
combined experience has given him an extensive knowledge of
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the DNREC wastewater
and NPDES regulations and permitting protocols. He is a Certified
Environmental Trainer (CET) and has been training wastewater
operators for over 20 years. Mr. Mulrooney is a member of
the Chesapeake Water Environment Association and the Water
and Waste Operations Association of MD, DE, and DC, where
he is also a past president.
